Get The Facts – Please – PubMed!

Fact-Checking Improves Your Life

PubMedBy Wendy Steele, Keys CEO

There is more fake news out there about almost every subject than I can fathom. Some of the things I have heard in my sheltered life amaze me—even Dr. Google is full of questionable responses and perceptions. Is perception reality, or is it now a bully pulpit for those seeking notoriety. Years ago, I suspended all opinions of what I could not control. A friend deemed that “Enlightenment.” I consider it sanity.

Get The Facts! – Please!

Living with an engineer scientist, the common phrase I hear is, “Where Are Your Facts?”  When it comes to your health, Dr. Google is an excellent resource as long as individuals do not have an intention for themselves. So, where do we go for HealthLine facts so we can make good decisions? You are responsible for your personal and family health. Having a resource that you can count on is paramount.

National Institutes of Health

Enter the National Institutes of Health PubMed. NIH is the health arm of the US Government and much more. PubMed is a database created by the NIH and resource begun many years ago as Medlars ll™ and Medline™. Now it is a fantastic resource to learn as little or as much as you want about any medical or research subject dealing with human beings and sometimes our pets.

NIH PubMed

PubMed

PubMed comprises more than 30 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites. The main site is at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/

New PubMed

There is a new, simpler, and mere mortal version of PubMed, simply known as the “New PubMed.” Do yourself a favor and take a look. As if any question related to health, and you might be surprised at how much and what you see. These are all peer-reviewed documents, so they are BS-Free.

Here is a link to the New PubMed  https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/   or click on the graphic below.
